PRIMAL FEAR: In Songwriting Mode
August 20, 2008German power metallers PRIMAL FEAR have issued the following update:
"Well, the time has come to start officially with the writing sessions for our new album! We will be in Sweden at Magnus' [Karlsson, PRIMAL FEAR guitarist] studio in September to write a bunch of new tracks and do some pre-production. We've collected already some ideas and it sounds very promising. We will try to keep the great vibe of the live shows in the band... Of course, we will try to surprise all of you again with a new direction.
PRIMAL FEAR has set "16.6" as the working title of the follow-up to last year's "New Religion" album. The CD will be recorded in November/December 2008 for a tentative early 2009 release via Frontiers Records.
"New Religion" last year landed on the Swedish chart at No. 67. It also entered the German chart at No. 60.
The CD was released in the U.S. on January 29 via Locomotive/Ryko. Guest musicians on the album include Kai Hansen (GAMMA RAY, ex-HELLOWEEN) and Simone Simons (EPICA).
